Jordan is one of the countries that successfully limited the spread of COVID-19 among its citizens, as the nation records under 600 infections in total. This was the result of the swift measures implemented by the government, including closing cities, borders, and airports.
But since the lifting of the lockdown measures, Jordan has seen a relative rise in the number of cases, which indicates that the fight against the disease has only just begun. As part of its efforts to curb the spread of the virus, the government has recently launched a new digital app that allows citizens to report any violations, such as gatherings, curfew violations, or suspected COVID-19 cases. The app allows users to detail the violations of individuals or stores and submit the location of gatherings or suspected cases. Users are also asked to enter their full name and personal contact information, as well as any comments before submitting the complaint. The local authorities will take the necessary measures after validating the report.
This new C-Radar app can be downloaded on Android or iOS systems. This app is a governmental initiative organized by the Crisis Management Committee to raise awareness and social and national responsibility, and encourage citizens to protect their health and safety. Jordan is currently imposing a partial lockdown. People are not allowed in public spaces at night and on Fridays, while employees can work between 8 am to 6 pm in some sectors.
